New album for 2022

Like many bands we haven’t been performing much during the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been idle. We’re pleased to announce that in late January of 2022 we’ll be going into the studio to record our next album, entitled I Know the Sparrow’s Song. We’ll be sharing more details (and some behind-the-scenes dispatches) in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.

Now accepting bookings

Once we’ve completed I Know the Sparrow’s Song, our focus will turn towards live concerts, bringing both new songs and old favorites to audiences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. If you’re interested in booking Frances8 for your venue or event, please get in touch via the Connect page and request our show information package.

Welcoming Jason, cheering on Reed

After holding down the bottom line since the beginning, our original bassist Reed Malcolm has bowed out to pursue other musical horizons, departing with all of our best wishes and appreciation for his contributions over the years. He remains a dear friend, and we’re excited to hear what comes next from an accomplished musician and rock-steady player. As bittersweet as it is to see him go, we’re pleased to announce Jason Roberts as our new bassist. Jason’s focus will be primarily on upright bass, providing the organic low end and timeless tones inherent in that instrument. Welcome Jason!
